There is a question that has popped up multiple times on social media and I wanted to address it. The question is, “do I need an ante room for my USP <800> negative pressure compounding room?” The answer is ‘no’ you are not required by the chapter to include that room. It can be a ‘best practice’ and this video walks through the advantages of having that room, but we call it a “gowning room” and not an “ante” room because the latter term suggests sterile and you do not want any regulatory or accreditation body to mistake your compounding process because of inadequate use of terminology.
